While the garden island of Kauai is certainly a lush green tropical paradise, it also boasts a massive red & orange canyon called Waimea — the Grand Canyon of the Pacific.

Waimea Canyon is not the kind of landscape most people associate with the islands of Hawaii. Stretching 14 miles long, one mile wide, and around 3,600 feet deep — it’s quite impressive.

One of the reasons Kauai is my favorite Hawaiian Island is because of the diversity of things to do there. You could easily spend a whole day just visiting the different viewpoints and hiking trails in Waimea Canyon State Park if you wanted to!

After a fantastic few days in Jervis, we packed up Marlee and hit the road again for the next leg of our Van Life Australia tour. This time we headed up into New South Wales' Southern Islands in the search of waterfalls, hiking trails and wombats!

Often overlooked by the general masses flocking to Asia, this stunning island on the fringe of South East Asia is home to some of the most glorious sites anywhere on the continent.

The pristine lakes, exciting mountain ranges and dramatic coastlines of Taiwan should be the highlight of any trip to Asia. From my visit here are my favourite most scenic places to visit in Taiwan…

1. Taipei – a striking modern metropolis with colonial lanes, busy shopping streets and contemporary buildings.
2. Sun Moon Lake – a stunning lake set in the foothills of Taiwan’s Central Mountain Range.
3. Tainan – an ancient city known for its centuries-old fortresses & temples
4. The Penghu National Scenic Area – clear seawater, pure beaches, beautiful skies and striking cliffs
5. Beitou Hot Springs – the best relaxation spot in Taipei.
