I was so excited to return to South Korea.

I haven’t been to many places where I’ve felt such a cohesive blend of old and new, but South Korea is one of them. Steeped with 5000 years of culture and history, but integrated with modern music, technology, and infrastructure, it’s a country that surprised and delighted me at every turn.

And Seoul? It’s one of my favourite cities in the world. If you think New York City is the place that never sleeps, just wait until you arrive in Seoul. During my first visit to the country, I landed in the South Korean capital expecting to spend three or four days in town, but ended up leaving after three weeks. Yes, I loved this city so much that I simply couldn’t bring myself to leave.

The street food culture in South Korea makes up a prominent part of the country’s food scene. Not only is the street food in South Korea delicious, it’s also relatively affordable which makes it great for backpackers or those simply traveling on a restrictive budget.

South Korean street food, often referred to as “pojangmacha” or “bunsik,” can be found in various locations throughout the country, including its bustling markets such as the Sinpo International Market which offers up many traditional Korean snacks, shopping districts, and in and around popular tourist attractions.

Vibrant flavors and unique combinations come together to create dishes and snacks that are simply fun and adventurous to eat. Each region of South Korea also has its own specialty street food items, which means variety around every corner

Melbourne – a hip, trendy, and vibrant Australian city brimming with culture. Its neighbourhoods have personalities of their own, ranging from bohemian quarters with amazing restaurants and fashion boutiques, to edgy, artsy areas that are home to more tattoo shops than a city could possibly need. It’s impossible to truly understand the cultural centre that is Melbourne without actually living there. And it’s equally as difficult to explore it as a visitor.

I’ve been to Melbourne 4 times. Each time, discover a whole new side of the incredibly complicated and fascinating city that has topped the charts of the World’s Most Liveable Cities. But despite my frequent visits, I couldn’t possibly try to share the best that this city has to offer without some local help. Luckily, a few of my friends and locals were eager to share their tips and recommendations for things to do in Melbourne.
